AAUW American Fellowships support women scholars who are pursuing full-time study to complete dissertations, conducting postdoctoral research full time, or preparing research for publication for eight consecutive weeks.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.


To enable Legal Advocacy Fund-supported plaintiffs, their lawyers, and related experts to speak at state meetings or conventions about LAF-supported cases, sex discrimination issues in the workplace and higher education, and the work of LAF.

2. Career Development Grants
Science scholarships for females:

Funding: $2,000–$12,000
Opens: August 1
Deadline: November 15

Career Development Grants provide funding to women who hold a bachelor’s degree and are preparing to advance or change careers or re-enter the workforce in education, health and medical sciences, or social sciences.

Primary consideration is given to women of color and women pursuing their first advanced degree or credentials in nontraditional fields.

Community Action Grants provide funding to individuals, AAUW branches and AAUW state organizations as well as community-based nonprofits for innovative programs that promote education and equity.

4. STEM scholarships :
British Council Scholarship for Women in STEM

Purpose: Brunel is proud to support the British Council Scholarship for Women in STEM. We are offering eight fully funded scholarships for female students from the South Asia region (eligible countries only) as part of the British Council Scholarship for Women in STEM.

5. The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD PhD Fellowships):

The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) is an international organization founded in 1987 and based at the offices of The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), in Trieste, Italy. It is a programme unit of UNESCO.

The Fellowship is offered to women scientists from science- and technology-lagging countries (STLCs) to undertake PhD research in the natural, engineering and information technology sciences at a host institute in another developing country in the Global South.


The OWSD PhD Fellowship is offered only to women candidates.

6. Medical Research Council Clinical Research Training Fellowships

Apply for funding to develop your organization’s creative research capability.

Grants can be used to renew, repurpose and upgrade research facilities and equipment.

You must be at a UK-based organization eligible for UK Research and Innovation funding. Standard Arts and Humanities Research Council eligibility rules apply.


To award outstanding researchers who wish to consolidate and develop their research skills and make the transition from postdoctoral research and training to becoming independent investigators, but who do not hold established positions.


It is expected that all applicants will hold a PhD or MPhil in a basic science and will have at least 3 years of
postdoctoral research experience.
